New Matter starts

I wonder if it's only me but I do find myself spending far to much time writting introductory letters, advice notes and more closing letters than I used to under the old contract.

Having to split matters up is all jolly tedious.

You do end up doing more matter start stuff under the fixed fee contract. I have found that I have had to standardise large amounts of the text otherwise I would not have time to do anything more than producing initial information and client care letters.

Splitting cases is a real nuisance too. I have to keep forcing myself to do it so that I can finance the homelessness review type cases which take up more time. I still feel like I am cheating somehow if I split a case. I guess that will wear off.
